I’m shortly going to be starting “Triumph: The Power and the Glory of the Catholic Church” by H.W. Crocker. But at the moment, I’m reading “The Real Presence” by Saint Peter Julian Eymard. Seems very eloquent and beautiful.

Greetings Bl Pope Pius IX,

Please by all means let me know how reading Triumph goes for you. I am interested in reading the book.

God Bless.

Greetings to those reading and or posting in this thread,

I am reading Wuthering Heights by Charlotte Bronte. * I am revisting the classics.

God Bless.

I’m a grown woman and I’m reading the Twilight series. :o You know, it’s easy fluff. I feel like I’m an alcoholic justifying why I had a glass of wine last night.

Greetings Child_of_God,

That is my favourite book by Stephen King. Enjoy. Are you reading the unabridged version? That version is so much richer.

God Bless.
Anathama Sit
Oh yes! Do they even still make the abridged version?

Diary of a Country Priest
Is that good? I’ve had it on my wishlist for awhile, but have never gotten around to ordering it.

I just finished From Slave to Priest about the first black priest, born to slave parents, in the US. Now I’m working on Dear Mrs. Breed about a librarian who corresponded with a lot of children who were in the Japanese internment camps here in the US.

Greetings LukeSr,

That’s a good book or at least to the part I have read up to. I need to finish it and do the Consecration.

May you be blessed as you read it. And may your devotion and love of Jesus grow through our Blessed Mother.

God Bless.

Thank you Anathama…Im encouraged by your warm comment,a bunch of us from The Legion of Mary are going to do the consecration this March…the blessings keep coming, just today, I was accepted into a College University with awful transcripts from long ago!!

Greetings Child_of_God85,

I’m not sure, I just know the unabridged version seems harder to come by these days.

God Bless.

I read the first version when it came out. Now I have the longer version on my Kindle. I recently re-read “It”. Along with The Stand, and his newest books, these are my three favorite books he wrote. It and The Stand in particular confronts the mystery of good and evil and sometimes the heroic efforts to overcome evil. I read It about 20 years ago, and had forgotten most of it!

Greetings LukeSr,

I am thinking about doing the Consecration that will coincide with March as well. I had meant to do it last month, but things and life got in the way.

I am so glad that your life is blessed.

Congratulations on being accepted into a College University. I shall pray for you studies. Please pray for me as I am going to be started to pursue another Master’s degree at the same time as my present degree.

Is the Legion of Mary a group?

God Bless.

Greetings Utah Rose,

I have never gotten around to reading It. So which did you like better The Stand or It? How much did the Kindle version cost you?

God Bless.

I also have “Triumph: The Power and the Glory of the Catholic Church” by H.W. Crocker. on my reading list, but for now I am reading “Justice: What’s the right thing to do?” by Michael J. Sandel

I’m reading Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand. It is a compelling true story of Olympian runner Louis Zamperini whose bomber crashed in the Pacific leading him (and two others) to drift thousands of miles in a tiny poorly equipped raft, fighting sharks, starvation and dehydration until they were captured by the Japanese who turned them over to a brutal POW camp. Upon liberation, his thoughts turned to revenge and finally forgiveness. It is an incredible true story.

Reading a bunch of things at once on my new Kindle:

Saber’s Edge by Thomas A, Middleton - Middleton was an Army medic in Iraq. As a former medic myself, it’s an interesting read. Middleton is also a Catholic, and it’s good to read how his faith sustained him in hard times.

Get Off My Honor: The Assault on the Boy Scouts of America by Hans Zeiger

The Virtue-Driven Life by Fr. Benedict Groeschel (wonderful insights by Fr. Groeschel, as always)

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy by John Le Carre (wanted to read it after seeing the movie)

The Reasonableness of Catholic Ceremonies and Practices (written in 1908) (free on Kindle

Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh - I’ve always wanted to read this.

I’m finding a lot of time to read now with my Kindle - in line at the post office, at lunch at work, etc.

I got my kindle a few months ago. It’s amazing how much I read now. I thought it would wear off after a while, but it hasn’t yet. It’s just so convenient to read. I have nights now that I never even turn on the TV. It’s fantastic!

Actually I think I liked “It” better only because I’m a pre-Boomer and could identify with the characters. I checked both on Amazon and the Kindle Versions are both $8.99. Michael O’Brien’s books are also very good. I"m presently reading The Sojourners, and previously read “Father Elijah” which was very good.

Stephen King’s new one 11-23-63 is superb but I think it’s about $12.99. on Kindle. I borrowed it from the library, but in the future when the price goes down I want to re-read it so probably will download it later on.
