What books would be found in a nun’s choir stall? What books does she carry with her in the convent?

Are they available outside the convent? Looking for things with Carmelite focus.

Idk about a nun’s stall, but you may want to check out Divine Intimacy.

In the stall would likely be the Liturgy of the Hours - available to all via many outlets. Beyond that, maybe a missal for Mass and any prayer cards specific to their congregation (many have a patron saint prayer or particular devotional/intercession they pray either daily or seasonally).

The carry-around books, as you call them — that could be who knows what. It depends on the num and the house she’s in and what her role there is.

Almost anything and everything could be obtained by anyone with relatively few exceptions if you just knew what you wanted and who to ask.

In the convent that I stay at the choir stalls have:
  • The Liturgy of the Hours
  • Special readings for devotionals the community says
  • A collection of hymnals for music
  • Missals for mass
  • Chant tone cards
  • Whatever books the sisters have checked out from their library for spiritual reading (or the novices are assigned to read)
  • Some had different versions of the Bible which they made notes in
  • Personal prayer cards and novenas
  • Rosaries
Other than the books that they personally had printed and bound for community use everything they had was available outside the convent because they were normal books you can purchase from a Catholic bookstore or Amazon.
