What can I do at Mass during communion?

When people get up,to,take communion I just stand there and politely move out of the way (usually I sit at end to make it easier) but what else can I do. I hate not being able to take it but I know after my RCIA class I will. What advice do you have when everyone is moving and I’m just standing there (feeling like I don’t want to take it when that’s not the reason) I’ve even had other members come up and ask why I don’t participate. I just feel awkward standing there until my section comes back.
