What can i do? ( confessing)

hi, i am just quite anxious or shall i say embarrased when i do confess a “lustful” thing what can i do? will my simns be forgiven or not actually i have this attitude of Master bathing hope its not an obscene word i just hid it to avoid obscenety so can someone help huhuhuh :crying:

Most “lustful” sins are objectively grave matter (that makes them mortal sins if you commit them with knowledge and consent). Therefore they MUST be confessed to a priest in order to be forgiven. Embarrassment is no reason to avoid confessing them. In fact, a little bit of embarrassment at having to confess our sins should help us avoid them in the future.

Deliberate failure to confess a serious sin is in itself another serious sin. It also invalidates our confession (so none of our sins are forgiven).

Just confess simply and honestly. The priest has heard it all before from many sinners. You don’t have to go into excruciating detail, just state the sin simply so that the priest knows what it was.

Hi Francis24. Most, dare I say all, men - myself included - have struggled, still struggle and will struggle with lustful things. Your Priest has heard this all before and is waiting to counsel and absolve. Jesus knows what is in your heart and is waiting for you so that he can hug you and shower his mercy on you.Go to reconcillation. Confess honestly and humbly. You will be forgiven.

You will probably continue to struggle with this sin, but frequent confession will help you very very much. Trust in God.

A lot of women struggle too, believe me And the embarrassment of confession is part of the penance and atonement for such sins.

Having said that, these sorts of sins would certainly be the most commonly confessed of all the mortal sins. So rest assured you can say very little if anything along these lines that the priest wouldn’t have heard many times before.
