What can I do with a religion major?

I’m going to be a junior in high school, and I’m starting to think seriously about college. I want to do something with my life that makes a difference and pleases God, and I’d really like to study religion, even if i don’t major in it. I’m a girl and I’m just wondering what different things I can do with a major in religion.

It depends on what you study in that subject. If you focus on Catholic studies, you could become a catechist, a teacher in a Catholic school, a professor, a writer, and possibly other related jobs. Of course, in some of the jobs I’ve listed here, a Catholic studies major would be one step. You may also require further certification and/or further studies in related fields (e.g., education, communications, etc.). It would probably be a good idea to discuss your job prospects more in-depth with your parents and with a guidance counselor.
