What can it mean?

I had a near death experience when I was 33 . Recently I have been having dreams about my near death experience, what happened was that I was dizzy got told to sit down i did i got asked by someone who was with me if I knew who they were i told them that they were the hired help that is when they knew something was wrong so they called family and told them what I had told them while we were waiting i was in and out of consciousness they pleaded with me to stay with them but I ended up dying no vital signs nothing i saw a bright golden light and I was on a path that was lined with trees i saw someone who was in the distance I couldn’t see them very well but I was with them within seconds I told him that I didn’t want to go back and that I wanted to stay with him in the light but he told me that I was going to have to go back I pleaded with him but he told me "my beloved daughter I know that you want to stay with me but I have a mission for you " I was confused and asked Christ “what is the mission you have for me ?” He said "I need you to bring my people to the Faith i gave Peter " again i pleaded with to stay in the light I didn’t want to leave the feelings of warmth love and peace that I was in, i had ended up coming back from the dead and trying to fulfill my mission that he gave me ever since then so why am I having these dreams of my NDE years after my NDE ?
 
No I didn’t it was the same topic but what I’m asking is what could me having reoccurring dreams about my near death experience mean why am I have them now years later?
 
But aren’t dreams sometimes a way for Father to talk to us about things that he wants to do or tell others when he feels like that’s the only way he can get to us to understand what he wants us to do as his children?
 
I mean, why dreams, he can simply tell you and I when we are awake and he does.

From what Im told, dreams are nonsense. If God was letting you know about something in a dream It would be straight forward and in your face you couldnt miss it sort of sense. If your putting more thought into it, then its nothing to hurt the brain over thinking about. If God is wanting to show us something, he would show us. Just my two cents.
 
But remember that He told Joseph in two separate dreams to not be afraid and take our Holy mother as his wife. Then He told Joseph he needed to flee to Egypt to get away from the death of the innocents that Herod unleashed on all of Egypt’s baby boys to keep our Lord safe so how can I ignore this dream and not take it seriously? because for me it is from our savior who died for us .
 
So did He tell you to bring people to the faith during the NDE ten years ago and now you’re having a dream repeating what happened then?

I would probably think it’s just random to have the dreams about it recently. I mean, it sounds like a traumatic experience and I’ve known plenty of people (mainly veterans) who have had this happen with things they experienced in war. I’ve also had similar dreams about past events, namely drunk dreams, but that’s more dealing with alcoholism than anything…though it is strange that after a long time of sobriety I randomly have drunk dreams out of nowhere.

On the other hand, if God is giving you these dreams maybe He’s reminding you of the mission He gave you.

If I were you I would pray for God to make it clear if the dreams are from Him or not and I would ask Him what they mean. If they are from Him I wouldn’t think He would be unclear about His intentions. I would also get a priest’s opinion, as that’s what some of the saints did when they weren’t sure if their visions were from God or deceptive schemes of the devil.
 
It is not unusual for us to dream about experiences we have already had. If you had a NDE, that is a life experience of yours. You are dreaming about it. I don’t see anything unusual about it. It doesn’t have to mean anything. It is just your brain working while the rest of your body is sleeping. You are remembering.
 
I think either you’re just dreaming about a beautiful time and place and memory you have or it’s a reminder to you to do what you were asked to do.
 
Saint Faustina (1905-1938) had many visions. This is described in her best-selling diary as well as her frequent visits with her Confessors and Spiritual Directors.
 
Do not focus on these dreams but on your mission. Continue to do God’s work and have no fear.
 
Catholic361, I would recommend that you speak with your priest or even a counselor about all this. Have you ever discussed your NDE with a priest or counselor? I have heard that life after a NDE can be difficult. The sense that you have been sent back to fulfill a mission is common after NDEs.

It does sound as if you’re having anxiety about this dream. Though some claim otherwise, dreams are not random nonsense. Not that they are mystical occurrences, but they do reflect our everyday experiences and concerns. Maybe dreaming about the NDE simply means you have never fully processed the experience.

You seem worried that God is telling you something through this dream that you need to figure out (but can’t).

Do you believe God would play a guessing game with you and torture you about this? I personally don’t think He would. Don’t you think if He wanted you to do something that He would let you know in some unmistakable way?

I definitely believe a priest and/or therapist could help you process this matter which is obviously troubling you.

I know that Father wouldn’t just give me the dream of my NDE to just mess with me. I am trying to fulfill my mission I’ve even told a few people about it one of whom is a family member and they I felt blew me off and told me that it didn’t happen but to me it did.
 
Have you spoken to a spiritual director or a priest about this? St. Ignatius believes God can communicate to us through dreams but sometimes it takes one who is wiser in the Faith and an outside observer to help us see the underlying meaning. Spend time in prayer with the dreams, but don’t focus on the content; instead, offer it to God and ask for the wisdom to understand the dream and pay attention to the movements and feelings in your heart. And perhaps, evaluate how life in general is going. Did the NDE have a negative effect on your life? Perhaps seeking a trauma counselor can help too.
 
No my NDE didn’t have a negative effect on my life but the opposite my experience with death has helped myself and others to not fear death or the death of loved ones because I know what is on the otherside of the Vail that we as humans can’t normally see I have helped more than one person in understanding what it’s like and they all have been very receptive to my message for them. I have only had one person blow it off as in that didn’t happen that was a family member recently, I think that it was because they couldn’t understand because it was such a big thing that they couldn’t wrap their feelings or mind around it. But my telling others of my experience has been a positive thing for people that i have told.
 
I have e-mailed my priest and told him about this and I am waiting for him to reply back. As for talking to a counselor about it. I have recently told them about my NDE and they seemed receptive to the experience that I had. Now I don’t know if they were putting up a front because they are a counselor or they were receptive to it and they were ok with the message that I had received and believed that they would be safe and loved when the time comes.
