My son died July 13th of a malignant brain tumor. He was cremated and his wife had a memorial service for him. Yesterday (October 14th) she sent the cremains to my husband and I via another of our sons. They are in a little white paper bag. I feel completely devastated to think that this is all I have left of my son. His wife either has or plans to scatter the rest of the ashes in various favorite places of our son. I really don’t know what to do with the ashes we have. One of my sons said, “That really isn’t Mike, anyway,” but it is all I have left of my son. I had been getting along fairly well most of the time since losing my son, but now I seem to be becoming very depressed again. On Memorial Day we always visit all the graves on both sides of our family. It seems now that we will have no place to go to remember our son. Can you give me some advice on what to do with the cremains and how to survive this situation. If anyone else can make some suggestions, I would appreciate it if this is permitted. My heart is very heavy. My son was a very spiritualistic baptised Catholic. He had not attended church for several years because his wife had several issues with the Catholic church. Please, please, give me some help.
