What Catholic beliefs contradict Scripture and serve as an impediment

This was posted on another thread:

So, which are contradictory to Scripture and which serve as impediments to one’s relationship to God?

Well, since the Church is also the authority which interprets Scripture, it seems logically inconsistent to me to assert that, institutionally, there can be such “contradiction”.

However, from the perspective of a personal faith, weather of the believer themselves, or of the expounding legate, there certainly can be such contradictions and impediments.

For instance, for those who enjoy more “free-form” worship services that one would find at a retreat or revival, the Liturgy could appear “dead” and “more concerned with Ritual than the living Spirit” that “keeps them from” the Spirit or otherwise distracts them from the Word it is meant ot convey. Likewise, there are always examples in the news of preists and even bishops who make a variety of (again erroneous) statements or actions regarding the doctrine of the Church to such an extent that it becomes an impediment to the faith of their congregations due to the scandal itself (if nothing else).

Regardless, such is a personal issue, not an Institutional one.

Well, that is how I see it anyway.

On this topic though what I find amazing is rapturists believe they will be pulled up body and soul into heaven without the first death. Yet they can’t fathom that Mary the Mother of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior would’ve recieved this same treatment. It boggles the mind…

To answer the question, there is nothing that impeeds our relationship with God.
 
Absolutely no Catholic beliefs contradict Scripture. The Catholic Church is the fulfillment of the Old Testament. And the New Testament came from the Catholic Church and is based on the beliefs of the Catholic Church.
 
Scripture and Tradition cannot contradict one another, If they do than ones interpratation of one or the other is wrong. Not everything in Tradition is found in Scripture, therefore those parts of Tradition cannot contradict Scripture either because Scripture is silent on that matter. The court of last resort on correct interpretation is always the Catholic Church under the guidance of Peter and his successors, the Popes.
