Do you feel that purgatory can explain the apparitions called ghosts? Or do you believe these are simply demons acting the part of human beings past? To me it would help explain many of the documented hauntings and evidence collected by Para-normal researchers.

Purgatory may account for some of the instances of ghosts; but ISSTM that most ghosts can be reduced to psychological phenomena or possibly demonic deception.

Yes I agree, I can see how people which have past on to find themselves in this state of being could become bitter and lash out (Poltergeists) or simply wander familiar places being seen now and then as shadows from the realm we now inhabit. While even Para-normal Researchers will tell you that some hauntings are defiantly demonic in nature and to be avoided in most cases.

It is possible for God to allow apparitions from Heaven or purgatory to appear to those on Earth, however it is not possible for either of them to commit sin on Earth. Souls in purgatory, although they are enduring temporal punishments, are set in their final perseverance, and they can no longer sin.

You would have a hard time explaining it being Divine Providence for an apparition to randomly appear in somebody’s house, open and close some doors, and then disappear. It’s either human superstition or demonic activity. In those cases, it makes almost just as little sense for it to be demons as it is for it to be God. Demons are consumed with hatred. According to Our Lady, they were the shadows behind the unholy thrones of WW2. Those actions of institutionalized evil were a faint glimpse of their handiwork. They do not show up and fiddle with some objects and then disappear.

Demons have indeed been documented as causing disturbance in homes, creating a constant pressure on families or person in order to cause stress, and even a deep depression in order to break the will of a person, oppress them in hopes of possessing them. This is accomplished through small to very pronounced disturbances. Demons do not have to start a world war in order to be a pestilence to man kind. As far as lingering human spirits, perhaps in purgatory" are often seen as shadows, as if another realm were just out of clear view although one can now and then see an apparition walking or standing, even multiple apparitions have been seen in houses or even in areas such as grave yards. This would for me at least explain a realm close to our own where spirits of human beings are being held.
