What characteristics of God does the bread and wine possess?

There is a lot here. Take John 6. Where is the eurachrist mention in that entire chapter?
If Jesus really is the bread and wine, then it follows that these elements are God. If this is correct, what characteristics of God does the bread and wine possess?

I think you misunderstand, justasking. The whole chapter is about eucharist, and once the consecration is done, as Jesus demonstrates in John, it is no longer bread and wine, so the characteristics of God that it possesses are the same as those of Christ on the Cross.

You’ve answered the question yourself. The Eucharist is no longer bread and wine. It is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus, so those are the “characteristics of God” that the Eucharist posesses. Only the accidents of bread and wine remain.

11Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks [Greek: *eucharistesas], he distributed them to those who were seated; so also the fish, as much as they wanted.

My mistake. From the thread title I thought you were talking about the bread and wine which are the elements of the Holy Eucharist. The loaves and fishes did not become the Body of Christ, only more loaves and fishes.

The prayer of thanksgiving that Jesus gave over the loaves and fishes was not the institution if the Holy Eucharist, but it did foreshadow it, as well as reflecting back to the other “Bread from Heaven” that Jesus’ audience’s ancestors ate in the desert.

The concept of Transubstantiation is based on the Aristotelian understanding of substance.

During the concecratoin the substance changes. Bread and wine becomes Jesus Christ. Yet the accidents remain don’t change. Aristoteles use this concept to describe perceptible qualities such as colour, sice, taste etc.Thus the Eucharist still looks like, tastes like etc. like simple bread and wine.
