What classes are after

I’m coming Home next Holy Saturday night . My question is this we will be having more instruction after the Easter vigil, what are these classes for? why do we go through them?

not sure about your RCIA program, but our parish has 3 or 4 more classes after the Vigil Mass.

From what I remember, the topics are generally … how to apply the teachings of Christ into our everyday lives.
 
It’s the period of Mytogogy.
It’s where you learn about other things such as ministries, devotions, and putting your faith into practice.

And a period of deeper catechesis.

Our’s runs through Pentecost. So, while various parish ministries are presented, so is post-resurrection scripture, the mission of the Church (and us as new members of the Body of Christ), and the advent of the Holy Spirit and completion of the revelation of the Salvation Economy.

Welcome home!

There is a tremendous amount to learn about the Church, about Christ, and about salvation. I would hope that you would continue to explore the Faith. There are tremendous resources available to help you on your journey to the Lord.
 
Is that why classes still continue after the Easter vigil? Cool can’t wait to see the vigil.

Don’t view the vigil as a “graduation ceremony.” As CajunJoy said, we are called to a lifetime of learning about our faith. It really is a profound, wonderful thing.
 
I wish that my family would be so open and willing to be supportive of answering Father’s call to come home to the church.
 
I am and I do pray for them all the time. I pray that my family will come home to The One and only church.
 
The Mystogogia is a time for entering more deeply into the Paschal Mystery. Having been filled with the graces of the Easter Sacraments, Neopytes are invited to pray more intensely, listen more closely for God’s call, discern their vocations in the Church, continue to learn about the faith and continue living out that to which they are being called.

Unfortunately, many stop attending meetings during this time which can be demoralizing to those wishing to continue. An RCIA Director I knew once said to me. "The only mystery I ever see in the Mystogoy is… Where did everybody go? "
 
Correct, parishes start their summer hiatus where there is a void of instruction, guidance, etc. You are told to wait until the fall. My husband joined an outside apostolate shortly after conversion, which took his time and talent away from the local parish hence, never making lasting connections.
 
Technically we can call all places with valid sacraments a church, so the Orthodox fit the description.

But indeed, praise God for your return to the One True Church.
 
Perhaps your example will inspire them to convert one day. Welcome home!
