Ours used rose. Question - for those who do use rose, do they use it the entire week or just on the Sunday?
According to the ORDO Sunday only and my Catholic calendar which denotes the color for the day.

I’m interested in the percentage that used Rose vs Purple/Violet vs Blue.
We have a total of five Masses each Sunday. The one I attended the priest wore Rose. The one I watched, which is on our local ABC station at 10:00 am (live), the priest wore violet. It is a matter of choice on this day.

Our priest wore soft rose-pink, lovely. He started out by saying “real men wear pink”. He is Hispanic and looks great in pink and certainly no one would ever confuse him for a “sissy”.

Love and peace,

Our Mass today was said by our Senior Priest in Residence (a 90 year old wonderful man)

He wore a beautiful Rose Gothic chasabule

The pastor came out to assist with the distribution of Communion, and he wore an alb with a Rose stole.

The deacon wore a purple dalmatic

Our pastor wasn’t too happy about it – even commented at the beginning of mass that the entrance song should have been “tip toe through the tulips” – but he still wore pink saying that the third Sunday of Advent was there to symbolize rejoicing. The candle is pink and so were his vestments.
THAT is what makes priests so wonderful - going the extra mile like that 😃

At this morning’s Mass, the chauble and dalmatics worn by the priest and deacons were traditionally-styled ones of a pale lavender color, quite attractive and not unduly pink.

At another parish I went to last night, the Franciscan pastor normally places a chasuble directly over his habit without an alb. I have seen other Franciscans do this also. Last night, though, he wore only an alb and a purple stole with no chasuble, saying that the parish didn’t own any rose vestments and this was as close to it as he could get.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho
It’s off to Mass we go…

The priest wore purple as the choir intoned this Disney Entrance Hymn:rolleyes: .

Fortunately the speakers were so loud it was difficult to hear the drum set and Gospel Revival-style piano.

Right after the visiting priest finished his homily, the pastor arrived in layman’s sport clothes bringing a thanks gift for helping with the Mass schedule.

Then the choir took over, loud and clear, right on through the Communion. The pastor did not help the visitor and a platoon of EMs distribute the Body and Blood of Christ. On the upside, there was no Haugen or Haas.

The visiting priest looked as though trying to ignore what was going on around him as he stuck with the rubrics.

Fa la la la la…

Our Priest wore Purple but we are a mission Parish so he probably doesn’t have the right vestments yet. We did have the rose candle and part of the homily was on why it is rose and that this is “Joy filled” Sunday 😃

I love this Parish and the Mission I attend.

No, he WAS wearing purple.
But I just about lost it when the choir began singing:eek: .

When speaking of the parish with the dancing pastor, this Entrance was kinda low key. Not kidding.

Oh, BTW, this is another parish in the Diocese of Barney, who wears purple all the time.:dancing: :rotfl:

Ah that priest! At least he can save on the cost of purple vestments by wearing the Barney costume full time during advent

Ours wore a rose chasuble for Gaudete Sunday. He has worn purple for the first two weeks of Advent and will wear purple next Sunday morning.

Our priest wore the same purple chasuble he’s worn for the other two Sundays in Advent. Unfortunately, our parish can hardly pay the heating bill, so I’m not surprised that he didn’t have a rose colored chasuble.

I visited my fiancés parents’ house this Sunday and went to her parish and the priest wore purple. He seemed very unhappy to be there. He rushed the entire mass. At first I thought it was just me but other family members who were visiting too said the same thing, and my fiancé’s parents just brushed it off, “yea he’s always like that.” I’m glad that I not a member of that parish.
