Lately I’ve really been cracking down on how I listen to music online to avoid stealing from artists. The way I see it, if I have no plans of eventually paying for the song, yet I choose to listen to it, even through a legal service like rhapsody, I’m effectively stealing the song. Hence no YouTube music videos, restricted Rhapsody listening and no song clips/previews, although to keep my music tastes fresh and eclectic, Pandora seems to work well, and I see it as morally sound because the music comes at me randomly.
So… this begs the question. Am I being over-scrupulous and what constitutes stealing this kind of thing?
