What counts as "scandal"?

Can you explain for me what is and is not “scandal”? I know generally that scandal involves leading others into sin, but are you guilty of scandal if you do something that could potentially end up indirectly causing someone to sin? How about if you do something that is not objectively a sin, but which someone else interprets wrongly, and thinks is a sin? Can you clarify? Thank you.

Remember the three requirements for a sin to be mortal: the act must be objectively evil (serious matter), one must know that it is, and one must freely choose it.
So if you know that an act can lead another to sin, it is sinful to proceed. If however, someone misinterprets your morally good act, that is his problem. You have no control over that.
