No he didn’t mean to abolish institutional religion and sacrifice. He was part of an institutional religion. When we celebrate Mass it is the continuation of that final sacrifice that he made for us.Was it in the style of that popular youtube vid WIHRBLJ? Did He abolish institutional religion? It was the end of the old covenant ,the law of Moses as the only way to God {not possible] and the beginning of the new Covenant paid for with his death on the cross ,the Lamb of God who takes away the sin’s of the world. Jesus told His apostles at the last supper of a new law ,to love one another as He loved them. We are to live as Jesus lived and died not just for ourselves but for each other. Jesus gives us the true meaning as to how to live out the Law that was given to Moses. No He did not abolish religion or sacrifice,He in started a new Church and a new way to sacrifice, serve one another fallow His ways,in what we say and do.Was it in the style of that popular youtube video WIHRBLJ? It is finished…means Christ work of salvation is finished…but it does not mean our work is done…we still have to pick up our cross. Was it in the style of that popular youtube vid WIHRBLJ? Did He abolish institutional religion? And sacrifice? Or did He mean something else?
It means that the work of salvation is complete. The price of sin is paid. Therefore when you are baptized, which Paul is the circumcision not made by hands, you are placed into the death of Christ by the Holy Spirit and raised into the resurrected life of Christ. In this life you must participate by doing works in keeping with repentance, chiefly among these are faith hope and charity/love. These virtues do not make you saved but show you are, and God rewards us for them because we run the race as one striving to win and not merely as one who is punching at the air.Was it in the style of that popular youtube vid WIHRBLJ? 28o After this, aware that everything was now finished, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled,* Jesus said, “I thirst.”p 29There was a vessel filled with common wine.* So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop and put it up to his mouth. 30* When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.”q And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit.
