I think we can safely assume that He had tan or olive skin, both because most people in the region do and people were outside a lot. As to whether or not He would be called “white” in 2020, who knows? I don’t think people of the time really thought in racial categories the way we do today.

Via visions of the past about the Blessed Virgin Mary’s parents, Mary, and Jesus. And, while I didn’t personally see these visions myself, the one who did is a source I find to be truthful.

Does it matter? I mean seriously, who cares what Jesus looked like? The gospel is what matters. Let’s not project worldly importance on whether he was handsome or not, white or a person of color. He is the son of God, that’s all that matters. I’m equally happy to see images of Jesus as beautiful, ugly, African, European, Asian, Middle Eastern, Native American, whatever. None of that changes my faith. The end.

Perhaps he appeared so during the transfiguration, and when he appeared to the Apostles after he had risen. As spirit and glorified body.

As for appearing differently to different people, both Jesus and Mary are perfectly capable of transforming themselves into whatever visual appearance they will. They no longer are limited by physical bodies.

However they want us to see them, that’s how we would see them.

Fair enough, as long as you remember that private relegations are not mandatory for Catholics.

I don’t want to keep circling on this, but my point is unless it’s something the Church has declared authentic you can’t be sure it actually Is His word.

Some people claim Jesus appeared to them in a piece of toast. 🤷‍♂️

The private revelations that I read may not have an official Catholic ruling yet one way or the other, and this is because they still haven’t conducted a full investigation in the writer, nor the writings, but they do have multiple Imprimaturs from those within the Catholic Church. If they thought the revelations heresy, or fiction, etc, then they wouldn’t have authorized its publication. For some reason, like with Medjugorje, they do things which speak approval, but they don’t go all the way and officially make it approved. Is it spiritual? Probably. Satan is attacking our Church in various ways.

An imprimatur doesn’t mean “this is true.” It means “there’s nothing in here that contradicts the faith.”

Saying “Jesus has blonde hair and blue eyes” doesn’t contradict the faith. He could have and it wouldn’t change anything, and it’s possible that he had a very different appearance from most Palestinians. None of that means that the approving official agrees with the content of the book.

I really wonder whether the people who think Jesus looked Scandinavian have ever actually been to the Middle East.

Sorry, I am not relying on some secret private revelation. Even if there were such a revelation, and it was true, the way one person “sees” Jesus in a vision today may not be the same as how Jesus looked 2,000 years ago. As others have pointed out, Mary has looked physically different in various apparitions over the centuries.

I apologize, I didn’t mean to imply that’s what it meant. I was just stating a fact the writings had them, then adding why would the Church authorize the publication of writings that were heretical, or fiction, etc. And, my description of Jesus, His Mother, and His Mother’s parents of course doesn’t contradict the faith, there’s many details of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s childhood, Jesus’s life, etc, that do not.There’s over 10,000 pages of writings and none of it contradicts the faith according to the Catholic Church, and lay faithful who’ve read it. See, part of those writings are episodes of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s parents, Mary’s birth and childhood, Jesus’s public life, or His three years of ministry, etc. So, when someone asked about His public appearance, I recalled from the writings since it was described. As I said, there’s over 10,000 pages of writings, and they made into books.

Anyway, I hope the Church doesn’t sit idle on these gifts from God, because Jesus said they’re for the Church, as well as the lay faithful. And, while there have been Popes and other clergy who have condoned her work, there are others within the Church who have tried, and are trying to suppress them. And, that’s no surprise to me when Satan has been attacking our leaders within the Church.

The visions received were of Jesus, His Mother, and Her parents over two thousand years ago. So, she did see what they looked like then. And, these revelations and more are available to all for reading.
