Didn’t it? A question about Catholic identity as I recall. From what I’ve been told, sinful behavior makes one a bad Catholic, but it doesn’t make one not a Catholic.

Certainly baptism leaves an indelible mark. Or if you like, there is no such thing as a former catholic. But as I said, saying “Hitler was catholic” is as deceptively incomplete as saying “Satan is an angel.” Both are true statements, but both leave out crucial facts without which the statement is innately deceptive.In all seriousness, though, what about “once Catholic, always Catholic”? I’ve heard that more times than I can count. Wouldn’t that apply? If not, why?
