What do "gay" activists hope to achieve when they protest at the Vatican naked?

This particular bunch need publicity, and by doing outrageous things, they get attention. Which should be followed by nothing.

Yes, nothing. What those who hate God and his people will spend eternity doing. Alone, with their thoughts, eternally separated.

But these kind of “gay” activist protests do make the news. And instead of denouncement of these kind of protests from other “gay” activists the mainstream media takes their side against the Catholic Church. On the other hand, when Westboro Baptists make the news, the tone of the news article is clearly condemning of the WBC protest. And there is a lot of public denouncement of the WBC by a lot of various groups. Between WBC and these kind of “gay” activist protests, which are just as loud, extreme, and even more lewd than WBC protests, only the WBC get any public denouncement from other “gay” activists or by the mainstream news media who report on it. Why? 🙂

I see the WBC and “gay” activist groups as being inversely equal extremes.

The media is in the business to make money. They stories they choose reflect that. They rarely reflect the whole truth, merely the side that will sell the most newspapers. This is evident in every topic they cover.

Also, just a question for you:

Those pictures you posted, one is from Chile in 2003, and one is from Vatican city 2008. When I first read your original post, I got the impression that they were from a recent protest at the Vatican. Did you intend to imply that?

This is kind of my point. Why bring more attention to these fools by condemning them or speaking against them. Realize that they are ridiculous, that most of the world is going to think they are ridiculous and let them go away.

When did we start to think that every group has to speak out against everything that someone else does that they do not like? Does every Christian church need to make a public statement that the KKK and the Westboro Baptists are wrong, or can most rational people just understand that?
If you look at studies of how people react to certain actions/scenarios, you’re always going to get a few that think it’s OK. Everything from the KKK to the Westboro Baptists and so on. I don’t mean to sound cruel but I’ve dumped some internet forums where emotional/irrational responses are common. Or if you write anything that conflicts with their prevailing view, you get dumped on, threatened with banning or just get banned.

I hope most rational people understand that but I wonder when I see the number of supermarket tabloids which, I was told, people buy in quantity. I mean the moment anyone anywhere says anything negative about certain groups, boom, the fire brigade appears to denounce whoever. Free speech on the internet? That’s a foolish thought.

Peace,
Ed

The naked protest was recent, but the pictures are too sexually lewd and scandalous to show. 🙂

I see. Do you have a link to a news article at all? Or the name of the group who did it. I tried searching, but haven’t found anything that seems to be relevant.

Edited: nevermind, I just saw your other post. Please disregard.

How do they reason that having four letter words written on their naked bodies and shouting about how they hate the Catholic Church will stop what they call “homophobia”? I can’t show the pictures of the naked protesters. 🤷

But I can show these ones.
A clown will perform if it has an audience. Congrats! Your postings of the photo on several threads have inadvertently added more publicity.

Not all homosexuals believe this is the way to go.

There is nothing to see here. Move on.

That is incorrect. Media bias exists, and the media has an agenda. I have a friend who is the production manager at a daily newspaper. We’ve discussed this.

I would imagine that one of the first things that was thought of was how to get a thread started on Catholic Answers about what they are doing.👍

I does depend on the newspaper. In my area there are both conservative and liberal major newspapers. However, I stand by my previous statements. It is painfully obvious that they are out to sell papers, and the truth falls victim to that. I see it particularly in articles not related to morality. My pet peeve, because of my profession, is the stories about aviation related topics. I have yet to see one that was not riddled with errors that enhance the drama behind the most mundane occurances. I have also seen it in other topics. I see no reason why a political agenda would cause them to do this. It is motivated by profit.

I admit the possibility that some papers are driven by agendas though. Possibly it is both.

I don’t know what I find more puzzling, burning the Vatican flag, or making the rainbow, the sign God shown Noah, the symbol for the LGBTS&M community.

[BIBLEDRB] Genesis 9:17 [/BIBLEDRB]

Did these activists get arrested for public indecency or some other criminal charge? If not, I hope so. The Vatican should be the type of place where one can go without having one’s eyes assaulted by extreme immodesty combined with hatred.

What did the Church ever do to homosexuals in the first place, for some to desire to shout against the Church in such a manner? Seriously the Church isn’t going to have say in civil marriage, it can say, but it doesn’t decide. Really their “protest” was in vain.
How would one find how homosexuals were treated in non Christian times and cultures?

We don’t see the porn industry out protesting.🤷

I think the naked “gay” activist protests are worse than how the Westboro Baptists do it. They are both loud, rude, profane, and extreme, but at least the Westboro Baptists can keep their clothes on while they protest. 🙂

I have been posting on the other thread where this quote comes from. Yes, this specific group of gay activists appears to hate the Church. The problem comes when people try to lump everyone who supports anything related to homosexual people in the same group as these people.
I don’t hear or read about those who don’t think like these activists taking them to task. If you are aware of any, please let me know. I don’t mean that in a sarcastic manner either. 🙂
This 👍

It may be a leap to presume that such persons actually gave some rational thought to their actions in advance. It may be just an adolescent reaction for attention or possibly even a mental disorder.
Unlike WBC who receive universal denouncement we have to go to a Catholic source to find a group of people denouncing this kind of lewdness.

They really are barking up the wrong tree since the Catholic Church didn’t just come up with these teachings yesterday. Since the teachings of our Church about faith and morals come from Christ, He’s the one they actually are persecuting with obscene stunts like this. 🙂

I don’t either, but then again I have never really looked. Somethings are so ridiculous that it is better to just let them have their 15mins and move on rather than continuing to bring attention to them.
But why overlook this when people don’t overlook WBC protests (which at least aren’t done naked)? WBC gets universal condemnation because of their obscenity, yet when “gay” activists protest in an obscene way against the Catholic Church (which is very often) Catholics are supposed to ignore it? Meanwhile, the mainstream media takes the side of the obscene “gay” activist protesters and continues to vilify the Catholic Church.
