Hi all, I went on Sunday. It was a beautiful 1.5 hours. I was feeling ill because I did not bring water but made it through.
When I asked the priest if it was a high or low Mass, he said neither, it was a Miss Cantata.
I do plan on returning but perhaps not every week as my parish is literally across the street where I live and due to my condition and weather and proximity of the Latin Mass parish it may not be possible to go every week.
The homily was really long as were the announcements regarding where the second collection was going. I thought, did they talk about this stuff in the middle of Mass hundreds of years ago? It just seemed off because the beginning was so reverent with chanting and incense and the bam! announcements on air conditioning. I don’t recall any spoken part the last time.
Thanks again to all for sharing your wonderful insights here and answering my questions.
