What do I do about a priest who takes "liberties" with the liturgy?

Recently, our pastor passed away unexpectedly from health complications and the associate pastor has been named our parish administrator until a new pastor is found. Since it is a large parish, we have had assistance from religious order priests from a nearby parish for Mass and confession. One of these visiting priests seems to find it appropriate to change words in the liturgy for dramatic effect or out of personal preference. The words of consecration never change (thankfully) but most any other part seems open for artistic license. Is this something that should be brought to our parish administrator, or brought to the bishop or this priest’s superior, or should we just bear with it until a new pastor is found?

Given the circumstances, particularly with the parish coping with a tragedy and in a state of transition, and given that a valid consecration is not being compromised, I recommend letting this go and offering up for the repose of the soul of your late pastor the suffering you experience in hearing such improvised revisions. If the priest continues to serve in the parish once a new pastor is installed, you can bring your concerns to the pastor about the liturgical edits then. And, remember, by the time a new pastor is installed, the parish may already be using the new translation of the Mass and the priests may be too busy learning the new translation to engage in on-the-spot edits.
