What do I do about my 15-year-old's behavior?

How should my husband react to our 15-year-old son when he directly challeges him by calling him a jerk while pointing his finger at him using a very disrepctful tone and face expression and refusing to comply with our requests?
 
While I am not a therapist, it seems apparent to me that you and your husband probably have allowed disrespectful behavior to go on for far too long already. At this point, you both likely need professional help in re-establishing your authority with your son, and your son likely needs professional help in learning to respect you and your husband. I recommend contacting the Pastoral Solutions Institute, a Catholic counseling apostolate. They can offer either telephone counseling or a referral to a counselor in your area.
