What do I do when my mother forbids me to convert to Catholicism?

I am currently discerning a vocation to the priesthood. I have wanted to convert to Catholicism for a while, but my mother is forbidding me to do it because she is very anti-Catholic. I’ve been told on the thread that I posted below that I should try and convert anyway before I turn 18. What should I do? Should I try and convert anyway, or should I wait. I have been getting mixed answers.

Can a priest please answer this? I don’t know what the Church has to say about this.

Dear bben,

You are fifteen and are not yet considered an adult in our society. So long as you are living with your parents and are supported by them, you are obliged to obey them. But time is on your side. Already, your mother is conflicted about your desire to become a Catholic. Remain respectful of them. Continue to pray and be as involved with Catholicism as is possible under your present situation.
