What do I do with a dress that has precious blood spilled on it?

My 8-year-old daughter spilled some of the precious blood on the front of her dress. What should we do with the dress?

In a basin of water, thoroughly dilute the stain, soak it, and wash it out as best you can. The dress can then be laundered as usual. The basin of water should be poured into the earth, perhaps in a garden or in a backyard.
