I have some Rosary beads that got broken somehow, and one of the beads fell off and got lost. I put it back together minus the one bead, but I think that I re-attached the broken off section backwards because now the crucifix seems to hang the wrong way. Is there a right way for the crucifix to hang, and the medal to face? Also some of the beads are slightly discolored due to being bleached by the sun I think when they were hanging up in a car. Is it okay to continue to use it to pray with?

It’s okay to use it if you want to and if you can’t find someone to fix it for you. I’d offer to fix it but I’m in NZ. If you want to dispose of it however, bury it in a garden.

Hello!

There are many people who make and repair rosaries and if you want it repaired, just ask at your church. I’m sure they know someone. Any jeweler would also have the pins/jump rings necessary to make the proper repair. It would be a very cheap repair and I’m sure the bead could be replaced with a similar one, if not exact.

Yes, of course you can pray with the rosary! Prayer is important and the beads help us to keep track of where we are in the prayers…some of my most favorite rosaries are the ones that have been ‘well-loved’. Or, treat yourself to a shiny brand new one!

God bless you,

Kelly
