beloved,

Sorry for not posting for such a long time. so how is everyone? Please I need you advice on this am currently going out with this guy who has shown in so many ways how much he loves me and I don’t have any reason to doubt him. He has asked me to marry him, my problem now is that he is not graduate ( only went to elementary school) and the other is that there is the possibility that my parent might not approve of him. As for loving him I can’t say because of all the guys I have dated till date (more than 10) I always break up with the excuse that am not in love with them which is the truth and I doubt if I can fall in love with any one cause the feeling is not just there. So what do I do cause I don’t want to make a mistake or is it that there might be someone out there for me.
 
Hi…sounds as if you already deep down know your answer and that you are not in love with this man sufficiently to marry him. My advice would be to pray about your situation and seek some form of spiritual advice/counselling. I willbe keeping you in prayer…

You just have to face it.

I agree with the other posts. Pray to the Holy Spirit for an answer and talk to your parish priest. Keep praying and I’ll pray for you. Much love,

I will pray for your intention.Be patient, and ask the Holy Spirit for direction.
 
Ask God to guide you to find the right person. Follow your heart and you’ll find find the answer. Just be honest with yourself and whoever you choose to marry. honesty is the best policy and God who wants the best for us will lead you to the truth.

I think if you read back what you have written you will see the answer, as for being only elementary school educated, Joseph was only a humble carpenter!!!

jesylala - Are you feeling conflicted bc you possibly have feelings for him and are fighting it, for various reasons? Are you afraid of allowing yourself love? Your asking for advice makes me wonder if you do have some feelings for him, but maybe not enough for marriage…I don’t know. As for his education, I liked what jnnywren had to say. Also, I know people who only had elementary educations and were the most successful business people I know. They were very humble, good Christian people.

Jesylala, I agree with Jnnywren and Mary ann R that you may not be looking at the right attributes on this man.It may be because you may not have real feelings for him?. Be honest with yourself. Futhermore, do not measure people by their academic achievements. That is just that an achievement and and not a lincense to put others down.
As a matter of fact,I know some professionals that hold PhD’s and they are just plain ignorant and rude. Some acts as they know more than GOD.How pityful!!! So,do not judge this man by his credentials he may be just the right person GOD wants for you.Maybe just maybe you may be passing a great opportunity to be happy.
Remember GOD himself could have decided to come to this earth as the most powerful person in the world. But, look at his example he decided to be among the poorest,humbled people in the world. So, we as catholics christians are obliged by LOVE and only by commandment to follow our Lord, not just because we believe in him but because we love him with our heart,mind and soul.
