I answered this question in great detail in post #65 in this link:

Why do you make these false and mean-spirited comments about me? I have read every link provided me and given reasonable comment in return. I haven’t run, or twisted anything. I have researched more anti-JW reasoning than you by far. These comments are untrue.

Steve
steve, my comments to you were not meant as " mean spirited". obviously, your not the typical jw that
alot of us have come across. if you thought i was trying to be mean spirited, then i apologize. as for me not reading as much as you have, i’ve read alot of jw publications. i used to study with jw’s and i did so for a long time. so i know what they teach indepth. but i’ve also done my own research into the socirty, and everything i’ve learned has proven that they lie, and they perpetuate the lies they teach. there is nothing mean spirited
about telling the truth. nothing. the truth stands on its own, and does not need to be told any other way, or seen any other way. the society has a long history of lies and false predictions. the fact that you took the time to look over anything i posted, well, you deserve to commended for that. alot of witnesses would never
even dare to read anything i posted. why? because the society would brand them as either opposers, or potential apostates. we both know what they do with people who they brand as apostates or opposers.

but thanks steve for taking the time to look over my posts.

Here’s a link you might find educational:freeminds.org/women/barbdiscovery.htm

The article is a fairly long read (took me about 30 min.), but quite detailed. It’s about how a woman who joined JW’s in 1957 uncovered quite a lot of their history while working as a Writer; she was a devoted member and eventually had to leave bc of the JW’s policy of how they handled child molestation cases. They were rarely referred to civil authorities. There’s more than just that.

Peace,
Mimi

The WTS and other antiCatholics love to point to the priests who molested children, but cover up (or don’t know about) what goes on in their OWN religious organizations.

I know how the WTS handles child molestation:
they cover it up.
My friend’s wife’s uncle was caught having sex with his daughter by his wife. She called the elders and they came over, and he confessed that he had been molesting his daughter since she was seven years old (she was now 14 ). The elders of course did not report him to the police, but contacted Brooklyn. Nothing was done about this man, not even a public rebuke. Within a year, he was appointed a Ministerial Servant !!

My friend contacted Brooklyn, and received a curt reply basically to mind his own business. I would think family IS one’s own business.

And DATELINE NBC did a segment on child molestation and molestors among the JWs and even showed molestors going door-to-door. Imagine letting your 8 year old answer the door to talk to a child molestor. Yuck.

This should not be tolerated no matter what religion it occurs in.
But the JWs and other anti-Catholics gloat when it happens in the Catholic Church as if THEIR religions are innocent of this, and they are NOT.
