This news story here clearly states that it was the headscarf that was banned, along with the cross and the yarmulke (jewish skull cap). However, it clearly states that the aim was for removing the Muslim headscarves from french schools.
They are not banning the niqab or burqah, they are banning the headscarves. So yes, this can be comparable to nuns. This should not be allowed. Where is the freedom that was once in this world?
