I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy…a Yankee doodle do or die A real oh excuse me thought no one was listening…We are all God’s children, lighten up on one another::hugs::hugs::hugs:God Bless:butterfly:🦋🦋

Thank you for asking. Let me see here…he sent me a letter recently…Ah! Okay here’s what “God” told me about the USA.

“Dear Cruciferi, America can only be as good as its people are. You have, like the rest of the world, fallen short of my expectations. The world is changing and not for the better. Luckily, I’ll put an end to this rubbish; however, you’re “all” gonna have to sacrifice and do your fair share. No country is better than another but each has been called to help the world differently. Now, no more arguing politics and putting faith in politicians. Visit me as often as you can and in time all will be well.

I have found the French in particular to have an attitude of superiority (not only over Americans but everybody), and encountered a couple dirty-minded, arrogant, anti-American Frenchmen while living in Shanghai that were so disgusting and obnoxious that I had to pray for the strength not to kick their asses in and hard. Of course, being French, even the looming prospect of a fight caused them not to apologize but retreat while persisting in their cowardly and arrogant insults. I’ve had French friends, and met a couple French people who were very kind and friendly, but I can’t help but to have a perception of them as being less than agreeable.
I’ve only met two Frenchman and they both seemed nice. One thing that I have noticed with most French folks is that they are hip in their dress. Skinny jeans and the like. Maybe that’s everyone in Europe I don’t know. But I think the stereotypical American idea of the French is a dainty, good-looking French guy who is slightly snobbish but who is ultimately a coward. The coward part coming from the two World Wars. That’s a pretty harsh stereotype but that’s what stereotypes can be.

Probably you’re right about the WW2 and cowardice thing, but my own experience with those two particular Frenchies didn’t help their reputation.

Actually, when I think of a Frenchman, I do think of him being skinny because many of not most French are and have an obsession with being thin, but I don’t think of them as being dainty or well-mannered, but rather brash and with habits like drinking too much and chewing with their mouths open. Haha. Well dressed, probably, since most of them can afford to be and are rather vain, from what I understand. Especially Parisians.

lol

funny how I can’t write too little or too much in a post, kind of annoying.

Just reading so many of these comments makes me feel sad that so many of us like to feel more superior than others and so we put them down or generalise them to do so basing them on historic, media portrayal, or previous accounts and encounters. I am ashamed to admit what my first biased thoughts were as soon as I read the topic.

depends on who you meet etc. I have dear US friends but the trump is another matter altogether… same as asking what you think of “the irish”.i

I think as any other place America has some really smart people and some really… not so smart people. And I mean america’s pretty big, the stereotypes change based on how far south you are…

The main one currently is trump-lover. Because you know, politics. But that’s a bit southern.
I haven’t heard anyone stereotype someone from like Ohio or like, Oregon…

I’m from Canada and I’m pretty sure I know all the stereotypes, but I’m wondering if there’s any I haven’t heard?

Here are the names of ten Americans who have been in the news this month. All around the world, people have seen their faces on their television news programs or have read about them in their newspapers and magazines. My question is this: In what ways, exactly, do all ten of these Americans so closely resemble one another as to prompt anyone to say, Oh look at that, typically American! Only in America …. !
Serena Williams
Alexis Ohanian
Charles Manson
Janet Yellen
Kevin Spacey
Steve Bannon
Oprah Winfrey
Jared Kushner
Blase Cupich
Roy Moore
