What do non-catholics feel when they see the tabernacle?

Many times non-catholics coming together in the name of Jesus do have the presence of Jesus there with them.

This is similar in a way but have the real presence, where they have a spiritual presence. Kinda like how when we go to a Bible study and gather in the name of Jesus.

There is a huge difference, but the spiritual presence of Jesus when people are gathered in His name has power. The real presence in Catholic Churches means we go to our knees as Jesus is really there. This is why when I pass a Catholic Church, I cross myself, to acknowledge Jesus being present and sharing His presence with us.

Many people wont notice, just like people did not believe Jesus was God when He was standing right in front of them.

Maybe there is something to be said for sabbaticals from the Church. Please, no casting stones over my herasy. Just suggesting cradle Catholics might be served by experiencing other faiths to come to a deeper appreciation of their own.

We don’t really have to experience other faiths to appreciate our own. Although that is how many sometimes come back to the Faith only to appreciate it more.

For some, such as myself, all that is needed is for a family member to have to leave the Church to become Protestant. I never experienced another faith but I certainly appreciate my Faith. I love the Catholic Church and all she has to offer.

As far as other faiths, I have taken it upon myself to research other faiths and Protestant denominations so that I can try to better understand my brother, sister & brother-in-law.

The church is just a building. Any building consecrated to God’s service has a sense of reverence about it if you take the time to notice. Some are pretty and some are plain jane. What I notice is the Spirit that comes when the members of the church gather.

Not true. Protestants don’t have a ritual to actually consecrate the Church walls and the altar do they? I doubt it. At least I would think that most do not.

When it comes to Catholic Churches, no matter how ugly the “building” is, or no matter how small, or whether the church has statues or candles or not, it is still Holy only because the Real Presence of Jesus Christ is there in the Tabernacle. NO Protestant church has Jesus substantially present in this manner. Jesus in the Tabernacle, Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, Jesus present in the Monstrance during Adoration is thee most important thing in our Catholic Faith. Jesus Christ is the Source, Center and Summit of our Faith.

Its true.

Whenever I go to my cousin’s church, I’m always really glad to be back in my Catholic parish the next week. Its just…different.

Doesn’t help their pastor is markedly anti-Catholic, though. Hearing how Catholics worship Mary ain’t fun.
