What do these abbreviations mean?

As a person looking into the Catholic church, I don’t know what alot of these abbreviations mean. Can someone please explain SSPX, SSPV, OF, EF, and FSSP?

SSPX is the Society of St. Pius X, SSPV is the Society of St. Pius V, FSSP is the Fraternitas Sacerdotalis Sancti Petri (the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter). With regards to OF and EF it would depend upon the context…

I think on the posts I’ve read, they refer to types of mass, but I haven’t been able to figure them out.

OF=Novis Ordo Ordinary Form ie English. EF-Traditional Latin Mass is the way I remember it. I can’t remember exactly what the initials EF but I think it is ExtraOrdinary Form which would be the Latin Mass. Other ways people refer to it here

OF = Ordinary Form, which is the current ordinary form of the Latin rite of mass.

EF = Extraordinary Form, which is the form of the Latin rite of mass from 1962.

Actually the “default” language of the OF is Latin. The vernacular is permitted.
