On the time when the Nova Vulgata was made, it was evident that the original text of the Bible (Hebrew or Greek) has several differences from the St Jerome translation. The New translation was made from the critical editions of the original texts.
Either the Holy Mass and the Divine Office is interwined with the Bible, and the Bible in this respect is the Clementine Vulgata. The new translation was not adapted neither to the Mass nor to the Office, consequently those who use the Old Liturgy naturally prefer the Clementine Vulgata.
The English for the original Vulgata is the Duoay-Rheims; for the Nova Vulgata is the New America Bible (NAB) which is also used in the Lectionary for the New Mass, and (I think) as Scripture for the Liturgy of Hours.
