What do we as Catholics believe is going to lead up to the end of the world?

I’m trying to see what we believe about the end of the world be for some reason I can’t find info (I’m probably bad at google). Thanks for the answers in advance 🙂

Is the rapture just something made up by Protestants? Where do they get this idea from?
 
The Great Apostasy (which began with the Protestant rebellion) and will culminate with the deception of the nations. But right before the end there will be a massive conversion of the Jews to Christ and the Church.
 
In Genesis 8:21 YHWH promises that He will never again destroy the earth. (No mention of a flood here, that comes in 9:11). When theologians speculate about the end of the world, they have traditionally overlooked this passage, and that is understandable because it used to be inconceivable that humanity could be wiped out by anything other than an act of God.

Not so anymore. Now mankind has gained the ability to exterminate himself off of the face of the earth without any help from the Almighty. This ability and the promise of Genesis 8:21 are what have to be taken into account when we talk about the end of the world.

Jeremiah 25:32-33
See! The disaster spreads
from nation to nation.
A mighty tempest rises
from the far ends of the earth.

Those slaughtered that day will be scattered across the world from end to end.
No dirge will be raised for them; no one will gather them or bury them.
They will stay lying on the ground like dung.

In my opinion, this passage is a description of a global nuclear war and its aftermath.

You will hear of wars and reports of wars…these things must happen, but it will not yet be the end.

Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be famines and earthquakes from place to place. All these are the beginning of the labor pains. Then they will hand you over to persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of my name. And then many will be led into sin; they will betray and hate one another. According to approved Catholic Prophecy there will be a Great Catholic Monarch, possibly of French descent, before the coming of the Antichrist, who of course arrives before Our Lord Jesus Christ. This, imo, suggests that the Second Coming is still probably decades if not centuries away, a long time to come.
According to these numerous approved prophecies, down through the ages, the Catholic Monarch along with the Angelic Pope will help to restore the one true faith throughout Europe, and the world, and will initiate a long period of peace upon this Earth just as the Our Lady of Fatima predicted.
I see absolutely no sign of this in the near future, and I live in Europe, Scotland to be precise. Europe is shedding its Catholic faith and culture to appease the march of political correctness, which is eroding our (western) world like an aggressive cancer.
But I am not without hope, and I pray every day that the tide will turn against the aggressive secularism of the west.
I love Papa Francesco, but his rejection of the fifth Marian dogma is a great worry for me and many others. Jesus came to the world through Mary, and through Mary we shall return to Jesus.
May God Bless Our Pope, and all the peoples of the Earth

Approved Prophecy? No… Approved Private Revelation at best.

Therefore, any guess based on that is very speculative.

Public Revelation ended with the death of the last Apostle
Even the Messages of Fatima - are private revelation.
And as such are not Required belief for Catholics

What is the source?

I suggest we stick to what we solidly know… (although never the time itself)

When GOD decided that the end of this creation takes place it will. it is as simple as that. Remember that for GOD there is no past present or future.
When this universe will cease to exist Revelation tells us that a new creation will replace without the evil that is allowed to exist now it will be perfect.
 
Decades, yes; centuries, no. According to the unapproved predictions, we will have only one more Pope after Francis, and that Pope will be St. Peter who will feed his sheep until the terrible Judge judges His people.
