My husband and I are very devout Catholics. We try very hard to bring up our children in the right direction as we have believed in, but our oldest son is planning to marry a girl who is a non believer, a buddhist. What shall we do? What are the implications of these to our Catholic faith? HELP!!! He is planning to get married before he deploys to Iraq this October. Please pray for him and the girl and us all. THANKS.

Hi,

Catholics are allowed to marry non-Christians in the Church. But they must prepare for the marriage with a priest. Your son must promise to do all in his power to have the children brought up in the Catholic faith. He’d better get crack’n if he wants to marry before he is deployed. Your family is in our prayers.
