To all Posters,

Good posts

One additional thought for those who can’t do an hour of Adoration. It is very important to make short-- five or ten
minutes-- visits to Our Lord.

The following is a favorite story.

On the way home from work, Sam would stop into Church for a few minutes. He’d look at the altar and say, “Hi, Jesus. It’s me, Sam.” This went on for many years. When Sam was dying, he saw the door to his room open. As the person entered, he heard a voice saying,”
Hi, Sam. It’s Me, Jesus.”

In my earlier post, I should have mentioned that sometimes I merely contemplate on God’s presence, by remembering Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God…”

i usually kneel in prayer and thanksgiving shortly after arriving at the adoration chapel. then i return to a chair and might sit quietly feeling the presence of Him around me. sometimes i take my 1962 missal and read the way of the cross or read other mediations or prayers or i will have other reading material with me.

sometimes i am overwhelmed with life and just sit there and can’t really offer anything. adoration is very healing for me and brings me a certain peace i can find nowhere else.

Rosary, spiritual reading, and silent meditation.

This thread made me think about the story told about a little old man who liked to sit in the church for hours. Someone asked him what he did in there, and he replied, “I look at Him, and he looks at Me.” 😃

I usually kneel silently and tell Jesus how much I love him. I meditate especially on the last supper. I tell him how thankful I am, and examine my conscience. After some contrition and more praising, I ask for my most urgent petitions and talk to him about my struggles in my daily life. I find that even after about two hours of this it is extremely hard for me to leave, and I wonder how I ever could have existed outside the church for those years before I was Catholic.👍

I find it amazing that before I was Catholic I never knew Jesus in the Eucharist. What a blessing we found the Truth!

I kneel and listen to the silence. Often I’ll say a Rosary, but mostly I simply adore.
