What do you do when you enter the Adoration Chapel?

I usually genuflect on one knee before the Blessed Sacrament and cross myself, and then go to the nearest available kneeler. However lately, I have seen people get on both knees and touch their forehead to the ground, when they enter and leave. Any thoughts on that practice?
 
Yes, I double-genuflect and make the sign of the cross as well.

I’ve also noticed that some people do bow their forehead to the ground, Francesca. I’m not sure if that’s the traditional practice, but I consider it to be worthwhile nonetheless, so long as done with the proper interior love for Jesus.

While I certainly don’t mind the pious actions of others in these situations, it is nice to know what the presently established norms are. That way, I don’t have to feel like a doofus. 🙂

I usually kneel on both knees (when very pregnant I have bowed simply because it would take forever to get down and back up) but I have seen a lot of different things.
 
The vast majority of people in my area kneel on both knees before entering the pew. A lot of the Hispanic ladies totally prostrate themselves on the floor. At one adoration chapel near me this acceptable, at the other one the floor is entirely too dirty for prostration!

I find it interesting to read that there is a rule regarding it. It is just our “culture” to kneel or prostrate and I have never heard it discussed.
 
The first time I saw anyone bow to the point of touching their forehead to the floor, the person was Asian; and I saw it (over a long period of time) several times - all were Asian.

Since then, I have seen several people do that who are not Asian, and I suspect they may have picked it up from someone who was/is.

In other words, it appeared to be cultural.
 
I have always prostrated myself when leaving. Never have I seen anyone else do it, which is not odd, since I usually stop by the adoration chapel around 3 a.m. But I have heard that many people prostrate themselves in foreign countries.
 
When I enter ,I first kneel on both legs, I make the sign off the Cross, I say Lord I,am here to be in your present ,and then enter the pew. and talk with my Lord. AMEN

Genuflect to the tabernacle, go down on both knees and bow before the exposed host. This is the convention I was taught. These rules appear to be generally observed.
 
I double genuflect.

However there are several African and Hispanic people’s I’ve seen come in, lay on their stomachs and crawl to the front of the tabernacle and stay there for a while.
 
I genuflect on both knees, bow profoundly, make the Sign of the Cross, and silently pray “Jesus, meek and humble of Heart, make my heart like unto Thine.”
