What Do You Do When You Go To Adoration?

What type of spiritual exercises do you practice when you go to adore Jesus in the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist?
 
Blessings
It’s time to vocalize our love affair w God. Saying a rosary. Quoting scripture. Talking to God about my life. Discussing, what His will is for me. Then, being still to hear His voice. Quiet meditation

Often just the prayer of presence.

And simply as talking to a friend in very simple language.

Those are two things.
 
I am reading Cardinal Sarah’s book, “The Power of Silence.” Adoration is a great place to exercise this practice.
 
I greet God and talk to Him.
Then I usually do some kind of prayer program I planned before going to the chapel, selecting from things like the Rosary, Divine Mercy, St. Brigid prayers, using a particular devotional book or Bible, etc.
if I see a particularly interesting devotional book at the chapel, I might take a look at it. One time I ended up reading about the life of St. John Bosco.
 
I pray the prayers in my prayer book that are for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Sometimes I’ll pray the rosary or I’ll just kneel in silence because I don’t have anything to say to Him.
 
Spiritual readings, mental prayer, rosary, a few chaplets like Divine Mercy, and stare at the Eucharist. You stare at God and he stares at you. There is live adoration on youtube which is like a skype call with God. Find it here:

 
I use A. R. T. S. Adoration, reparation, thanksgiving and supplication and use prayers like divine mercy chaplet, rosary and chaplets in a book I found to be really useful in how to approach a visit to the Blessed sacrament. Its called a manual for eucharistic adoration by Paul Thigpen. Its a great book in my opinion. I also like to read over parts of the imitation of christ in the presence of the Blessed sacrament as do sometimes pick a reading or Gospel from a weekday mass of the past week to meditate on it and sometimes I just sit, listen and enjoy being able to visit Jesus this way.
 
Is it a good book Eric? I was thinking of picking it up when I finish reading what I am reading atm.
 
I listen attentively and passively, understanding that God often speaks in whispers, and this is an appropriate time to receive personal revelation.
 
I’m reading the same book and I like it very much so far. Many other CAF members have also spoken positively of The Power of Silence.
 
After greeting Him, I like to say sorry for all of my sins first, with specific examples.Then I go through and ask for the graces that I need, which is a lot! Patience, purity, humility, love for Him above all things, love for others… I ask for a lot, because He wants to give a lot!

I ask Him for all the intentions I have at that moment, and then go through my family members, friends, associates, and ask things for them too. Then I thank Him for all the blessings He has given me, and try to list lots of examples.

After I say my prayers (maybe the Rosary, Divine Mercy, or prayers from my Pieta book) sometimes I like to just kneel before Him and sing to Him! In my head of course! I sing my favourite hymns directly to Him, and it is a beautiful experience…

For me, similar. Greet, thank, prayers of Adoration. Sorrowful prayers for my sins and shortcomings. Supplications for those I’m praying for. A rosary or two. Prayerful readings, usually Bible. I get some interesting insights, particularly when something stands out answering something I’ve just prayer about. (That happens quite frequently).

Sometimes it’s just I look at Him, He looks at me.
 
I miss my time at the adoration chapel, as it was closed down two year ago.

When I went, I started by praying the Rosary. Then doing my LOTH for that time of day. I would then do Centering Prayer for 20 minutes, then read books on spirituality, like from Thomas Merton or St John of the Cross.
