What do you do when someone denounces the Catholic faith but makes and error?

For example, someone says that the Catholic faith is wrong because Catholics worship the Pope.

If this happens here, it’s obvious that the error is corrected. But what about when this happens in a real life discussion and it’s obvious that the person really just wants to voice his opinion. (People love their opinions, especially when it comes to their perception of the CC, and they part with them very grudgingly.) Do you correct the other person?

I do. I started off badly I must admit because I couldnt properly defend against what I was countering, but I’m getting better as time goes by largely thanks to the wonderful people here, and the real life catholics I have gotten to know through Church and RCIA.

But as someone pointed out to me here, its vital all correction is done with kindness, gentleness and christian charity. One must not become proud or boastfull.
 
Yes. I correct any erroneous statements I hear about our faith, no matter where I happen to be when they pop-up. If we don’t share the truth with others then they are going to go on believeing falsehoods and they will share them with others.
 
It depends on the situation. If I am in a place where such a correction is allowed, I will do so. If I am in a place where I cannot make the correction, I will hold until such time as I can contact the speaker and discuss with them.

The size of the crowd does not phase me. Nor does the title of the person talking. Sometimes, however, I just cannot make my voice heard.
