what do you DO with holy cards?

It would be called “My Devotion Book” or something to that effect. It would be about 20-30 pages and it would look something like a little photo album with see through plastic as the pages. You would insert your Holy Card so you could see the picture and on the opposite side read the prayer. Then the ending would consist of “real” pages containing Traditional Church prayers along with list of Feast and Holy Days. The front and back cover would look more like hard cover prayer book which you could in turn fill it with any or all the prayer cards you wanted.

I think that’s a great idea – I would certainly use something like that if it were available.

Speaking as a former collector (read: nerd) of Magic the Gathering and other collectible card games, I would definitely use something like that! :bounce: Seriously, i think that could really catch on with the youngsters. It’s gotta be better than Yu Gi Oh, :whacky: at any rate.

Don’t worry, I already have the copyright on Pope-e-mon Cards. My son really thinks it s a great idea.

Way back in 1956 there was this kid in first grade who did not like to do math. The teacher and principal of the Catholic school developed a plan. If the kid got a good grade on his math test, he would go to Sister Mary Magdalene, RSM, the principal’s office and get a holy card. While all the other kids collected Mickey Mantle, etc. baseball cards from bubble gum packs, this kid had an amazing collection of holy cards. When he made his first holy communion the next year, they went into his missal. I still have my missal and holy cards including my prized possession a holy card for Blessed Father Seelos before his sanctification.🙂
 
Some in my missal, some in my Bible and many in my purse. Somehow I always end up giving them away though.
 
I have a great one of St. Anthony… now if I could only find where I misplaced it… LOLyou can also role play, hmmm what would St. Francis say to Blessed Mother Teresa… Oh check this out, you can plan out little “heaven scenarios” Here we have JP2 hanging out with Jesus King of All Nations and the Virgin of Guadalupe!!! Seriously, they are great when you can’t remember little prayers here and there that you would really like to go back to.
