What do you eat instead of meat on Fridays?

Breakfast is always a bowl of cereal, and lunch is usually a pb&j and maybe a yogurt or apple (even when it’s NOT Lent!).

This Friday for dinner we’re having tuna sandwiches and tomato soup. Last Friday it was mac and cheese. The Friday before it was vegetarian lasagna.

Jelly sammich for lunch and KofC fish fry after the 5:30 Friday Lenten Mass. I think I’ll abstain on all Fridays from here on out.

fruit & yogurt or cereal & milk for breakfast.

Same as breakfast for lunch or salad or rice & edamame or, or a frozen vegetarian meal or a protein shake.

Dinner could be a fish or vegetarian entrée at a restaurant, a fish fillet and veggies at home, or just a microwaved bag of veggies with beans.

For those vegetarian options beans, eggs and tofu are great main meal protein sources.

Sounds like lots of pizza. I’m guessing everyone is getting some sort of cheese/veggie vs seafood?

Some of us can’t physically tolerate seafood. I only wish my dh and I could because it would broaden our Friday choices. 🙂

Looking forward to this Friday’s selection, tuna salad on toast. I make it like my mom does, adding diced hard-boiled eggs and pickles. Very tasty. Doesn’t really feel like a sacrifice at all.

Yeah, I really like seafood and grew up in Louisiana where some of the best of it exists.

Fridays during Lent are definitely not a sacrifice for me.
