What do you get an agnostic couple for a wedding?

Oh, I have had lots of bad experiences in many areas, but I do apologize if I came across harshly. Respect and tolerance are what I expect from others and endeavor to give in return.

it seems nowdays people are very specific in their preferences and giving any gift entails them taking the trouble to return it and buy something else. I always give the same thing, a gift card to bed bath and beyond because everyone needs sheets and towels, and they have gobs of other household stuff, including gadgets you never get as gifts, and the stores are nationwide. I don’t regard gift-giving in general as an occassion to push my personal agenda.

How about a Chicken soup for the soul book. I think they have one for the couple’s soul and the bride’s soul. A lot of people enjoy these books and they all seem to have a good message.

Just an idea. (Of course, gift cards are always good too)

God Bless,

RyanL’s Wife

How about an Entertainment Book? You can get them online, just Google Entertainment Book. They’re $35.00 and full of coupons for a variety of things like restaurants, car washes, Lube places, and many others. They are regional so the coupons are for places in your/their residential area. My dh & I use them for those people who “have everything”, and they’re usually well received.

Peace,
Linda

A gift card to BB&B, as previously suggested, AND a copy of Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis.

Thanks for all of the great ideas, everyone! I appreciate it. It’s helped me a lot and you all gave me things to think about!

I think I’m going to go the gift card route for the wedding – maybe a restaurant or such. And I haven’t completely decided, but I think I might get my friend something inspirational for her shower.

Thanks again - kaj

Giving the inspirational gift at the shower is a great way to go.

I agree with the gift card giving - we all need them! I also agree signing the card “God bless your marriage” or something like that. You would say that to anyone, yes? Why not say it to someone you truly call “friend?” Pray for her, she can’t willingly throw that away.
