What do you have in your Crying Room?

Just a hint as to what keeps crying babies quiet. Being held and the mothers gentle rocking tends to be best IMHO. When the babies were little we used the BABY SLING so baby was always next to our hearts. Works wonders. You can feed modestly and no one is the wiser.

LOL it also works wonders for the toddler that does not want to be in it any longer. Just let them know that they will be in the sling if they do not sit/wiggle quietly.😃 since they can be used till they weigh around 36 lbs it is a good thing.👍 Word of warning though the toddlers tend to like to pull at your veil when in the sling.

If we can not stop a baby from fussing loudly then we go into the cry room or out-side if need be.
This doesn’t work with an active 10 month old that wants to go,go,go and bite mommy. 😉

There are times I want to “shake and bake” those that want us to remove our children from Mass. I know it is unkind to think this way. But children need to be included as much as they can be.😃
I agree.

Children can not learn to be a part of an environment if they are never part of the environment.

However…

how much are we putting on ‘babies will be babies, and sometimes they cry’, and forgetting all the other people there for mass?

As I have stated: I do not have children. But, when I hear a child wailing for four or five solid minutes, and Mommy is acting like she can’t hear it, and all the other parents and grandparents around are glaring at this situation, it makes me think “to expect this child to be removed AT THIS TIME is not unreasonable”

Just like if you are in a movie, and you have a coughing attack, you would get up and leave - even if just to get a sip of water. Yes, every one has colds and flus and allergies, but if you are barking so much that no one else can enjoy the setting, isn’t it fair and reasonable to expect you to excuse yourself until you can make what is causing the disturbance stop?

And babies that are allowed to wail: shouldn’t they be given some comfort by the adults with them? Sometimes, they just don’t want to be there.
