What do you know about the Megiddo Church?

The office receives a free subscription of their publication for the waiting room.It has never been ordered, just comes.The magazine is very attractive, has beautiful pictures and illustrations about the bible and about nature.
It also contains wise sayings and Christian advice.I can see it is not Catholic.For example it says that John 7:53-8:11) about the woman caught in adultery, is spurious, and not part of the inspired Scriptures.And goes to a great extent to prove the point.
I try to discard what I should, but I feel enriched by it in many other ways, not the least the
Christian poems it contains.I write poems too, so I enjoy them.
But I do not know much about this Megiddo Church.Does anybody?Should I feel uneasy about enjoying their magazine:o
 
You can get poetry elsewhere. It’s not worth putting up with the kind of publication that contradicts the faith.
 
I assume that you are right that it is not catholic. But I have read that “The oldest and most reliable manuscripts do not contain John 7…” in the notations in a Good News New Testament I received on a catholic retreat. This may simply be a case of good scholarship. Nevertheless, if the Church accepted it into the canon, it is because it is inspired and may have been part of the original oral tradition anyway.
 
Based on this new information you provided,does the Catholic Church “prohibits”(makes it a sin) to read a magazine as described in the first post, or just does not "recommend’.
 
It’s likely okay for private use (i.e. don’t use it for public Bible studies).

It would be wise to ensure a greater part of your devotions are from Catholic resources, however.
