Amen to the waiting thing, it’s hard!

but I accept that I especially have to wait, because I’m not only just 19 years of age, I’m also a Neophyte (newly Baptized). there is on average a two year waiting period after entering the Church.

So wait is what I shall do. initially I was going to go study Catholic Studies at a more liberal university, but I’ve been warned and encouraged towards a less well-known, unaccredited and yet deffinitely true to Catholic Teaching type of school.

where I will be going next year, and where I shall study, work and pray and it shall all be centered on love of Jesus. Finally.

that’s all I really want for my life. to be centered on Jesus. and especially on Jesus in the Eucharist.

love always

Dear Augieboy

you said:

I know it can sound as though I’m looking for an order to conform to me rather than the other way around, but that’s really not true. Following Fr. Thomas DuBay, I believe that discernment is much more difficult than most people think. By the time I become holy enough to know the will of the Lord with any certainty – if I ever do – I will be far too old to enter religious life. Given that there are more than 200 religious orders and/or communities in the U.S., I need to do something other than simply sit and ponder which order “feels” like it’s calling me.

Your totally correct, just try to be open to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and be willing to abandon yourseif to him as a child to his Mother, sometimes things aren’t always what they seem, looking in from out is sometimes deceitful, i recommend that you live with monastic communities (if possible) for a short period of time (say a week or two in each community your interested in) to get practical experience, that way you can discern your vocation more clearly and you can discern where the holy spirit is dierecting you.

i wish you the best

love brother
