Our Church is so beautiful and our religion so rich, what are the things you most love about it?

šŸ™‚

There’s a LOT.

I love the deep meaning of all the sacraments. These aren’t things that are arbitrary or which should be commonplace, they are deeply rooted in the faith and done in such reverence.

I love that every mass we represent calvary and Christ’s sacrifice, and that we are able to receive Him as He commanded in the last supper.

I love that (despite what you hear) we hear different passages from the Bible at every mass and that we get deeper insight into their meaning and learn how to use it in our everyday lives.

I love the fact that this is the church that Christ started, and it truly can be traced back to him.

I love that I can go on vacation and find a church and attend the same mass that I would if I were home.

I love that if I do have a question I have unlimited resources to find the answer, the Bible, the CCC, my Priest, and now even forums like this!

Where does one start? Since you said ā€œmost loveā€ I suppose that would have to be the TRUTH of the Church. Without that, I wouldn’t be here. After that, everything flows into the most beautiful and uplifting garden one can ever hope to see.

Where do I start? Just to name a few…I LOVE…

The Holy Trinity

Mary

The fact that I don’t have the burden of trying to interpret the Bible on my own.

This is the Church Jesus Himself started and I believe this is where He wants me to be.

Apostolic succession and knowing that even my within my own family, Catholicism can be traced back to the first generation of Europeans who became Christian, even my Protestant relatives were Catholics somewhere in their family history.

The Sacraments

Eucharistic Adoration

The saints (our prayer partners or buddys in Heaven) - a few of my favorites: St. Joseph, St. Peter, St. Jude, St. Therese (the Little Flower), St. Monica

Feast days

St. Joseph’s Altars

Big Catholic families, who can take up a whole pew by themselves.

Christening gowns

Incense

Candles

Midnight Mass

Easter Vigil

Love it’s history, rich tradition, Sacraments and as Fr. Greeley points out which I agree with. We can get even closer to God with our limited human abilites using all our five senses.Touch the holy water and rosary beads, sight our beautiful art, icons and cross. Smell incense. Taste the body and blood of Christ. Hear our wonderful and deep rich music.

What an incredibly beautiful faith we have! šŸ™‚

I cant think of anything specific so I would have to say,**EVERYTHING!!! **
May the soul of John Paul the Great and all the faithful departed rest in peace.

I can’t choose one or even a few of parts of it. As a reverted lapsed Catholic, I love all of it… including the flaws of its human members because it reminds me of my own unworthiness and the Grace of God in contrast.

I like the ā€œfamilyā€ aspect of it. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. We have the Holy Father and our Blessed Mother Mary. We have the Communion of Saints.

We have the Body and Blood of our Savior. We have a way to know that without a doubt we are forgiven for our sins - confession. We have daily Mass, the different colors of the liturgical year.

We have so many ways to worship -** inscense, novenas**, the Rosary, singing.

Dedicated Nuns and wonderful Priests. I am so thankful that I was born into the Catholic faith :dancing: :dancing:

:blessyou:

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
Our Lady (My confirmation saint) and all the other saints
The Monarchy of the Church (Christ is King!)
Latin used in worship (ESPECIALLY the Tridentine Mass!!!)
Incense
Candles
Ancient, holy, and traditional hymns
The Organ
Chant
Kneeling, standing, sitting (the aerobics)
Elaborate and traditional churches
The art statues & icons

I love it all! 😃
