I am certain the doctor was not attempting to offend her dignity.
Don’t be so sure… I’ve encountered more than a few Ob’s who have great disdain for NFP. Time for a new Ob and I’d not be shy in letting the doctor and any affiliated HMO’s, PPO’s and the like why you’re switching.

I find it extremely puzzling that there are so many people who go to a doctor who has a deeply flawed view of the human person. Doctors do NOT just treat the body. They are called to treat the person.
Amen and again I say AMEN!

What do you guys tell your dr. when he suggests putting you on the pill? My dr. told me that NFP is just an ineffective birth control. He said it is unethical to keep producing children. What should I say next time
You should say, “Please give me all of my records, I am changing doctors.” He is way out of line. I believe that is actually harrassment.

His job is to give you medical advice, not ethical advice, and it is extremely insulting to our Catholic identity to be told something like that. Ask around and find a Catholic OBGYN, or at least a pro-life one. Mine is Methodist but pro life and knew exactly what my charts were when I brought them in to him at my first visit.

You deserve better treatment than that.
