Our young children attend a Catholic grade school in our town. It’s a great school and we’re very happy with the education they receive there. Last week we had the opportunity to visit their classrooms and talk to their teachers. In one of the classrooms I saw something I thought was very simple, yet profound. On the chalkboard was written GODISNOWHERE with the question “What do you see?” written below it. I must admit that I first read it as “God is nowhere”. But then I quickly realized that another and more correct interpretation is “God is now here”. So it is with life. What we perceive is based on our own experiences and interpretations. Sometimes we fail to see, either initially or continually, another point of view or possibility. That probably explains in part why there are so many differing views of God and religion. But the real key is to keep searching for the answers and not settle for things at a first glance.
