Methinks latinmasslover is a closet schismatic, supporter of the SSPX. 😦
Closet schismatic? Please, if there is a schism, only the bishops and Lefebvre are ā€œschismatics.ā€ The priests and laity are not, unless they attend SSPX Masses in order to defy Rome. Check you facts please.

I support the Truth as taught since the beginning. So yes, I do support the SSPX in most things. What of it? They don’t compromise with error, and their first priority is God and the honor due Him. Their second priority is the salvation of souls. If you have a problem with that, take it up with Jesus.

That being said, I don’t accept everything the Archbishop says as Gospel. In the beautiful spirit of V-II, I take the good, leave the not-so-good.

I’ll let Latinmasslover get a night’s sleep and see what she can come up with. She’s being a really good sport about all of this and I do appreciate it. (LML, if you’re not a woman, I do apologize! I think I’ve gotten that in one of your posts, but I may be wrong.)
Thanks for the patience, and yes I am a woman.

This was the best site I found so far. Like I said, most of my research is with books and not online. If I come across anything else I’ll post them or PM them to you. God Bless.

Hmmm…I’m not sure I agree with this. You are allowed to go out of an attachment to the EF. I don’t recall any other allowances. Also, I don’t recall the ā€œin order to defy Romeā€ as listed at all. Do you have some documentation? Mucho gracias.

Hopeful,
what parish did you attend in Cincinnati? ( or give me a clue where it is, I am looking for something more reverent in this town)

Old Saint Mary’s, which is in Over The Rhine (14th street, I think it is, between Walnut and Main.) Don’t be put off by the location - they have security and many families with young children go. They have NO in Latin at 9, German at 11, English at 12:30 and English at 6 or 7pm. Well, you can get the Mass times at this web site:

There are some truly fantastic people at that parish. A lot of the people involved with Sacred Heart Radio, the Couple to Couple League, and other good things go there. They also have a really good crisis pregnancy center in the basement of what was the school that does great things. The woman who directs it is my son’s godmother.

There is another parish on the East side of the city that I was told is very similar. The building, I hear, is modern, but I was told that the Mass and congregation is similar. I want to say it’s St. Gertrude’s, but I don’t want you to get confused and end up at the SSPV church up to the North-East, which is called St. Gertrude the Great. I’ve never gone, but I’ve heard good things.

Actually, I don’t recall where I read it exactly, I have a couple of ideas. I’ll look around and post it asap.
