What do you think about Protestants?

I have some protestant members as well as me and I want to prove some of them that you love them despite the excommunications and the protestant being not in communion with the Catholic Church.
 
We are called to love our neighbour regardless who they are. What religion are you , you have not yet gone through RCIA .

@Pathway2 , you ask what do I think about Protestants ?

I have family members who are Protestants .

I have friends who are Protestants .

In my life I have known more Protestants than Catholics .

I think they are great .

They are sincere and loving in lots of ways .

They are my brothers and sisters in Christ .

And the Catholics I know are no better than the Protestants I know .
 
Love them for their zeal for God and the HOLY BIBLE

Romans 10:1,2 Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. 2 I can testify that they have a zeal for God, but it is not enlightened.

You don’t have to “prove” anything.

Just be the best possible version of you, treat everybody with charity and when asked about the Church, answer their questions honestly.

It depends on the person. I dearly loved some Protestants, including my husband and my grandma. Many Protestants are nice, good people who just happen to have been raised Protestant.

I’m not a real big fan of other Protestants who act nasty or bash the Church, but that’s not because they’re Protestant, it’s because they’re acting like jerks.

In any event we are called to love all of our neighbors, regardless of their religion and regardless of how they act.
 
Which Protestant? There are millions of them. Each one is different, a human being deserving our respect.

Rev. Fred “Mister” Rogers (yes, Mr. Rogers, the guy with the sweaters and trolley) was an ordained Presbyterian minister, and he is a hero of mine, one of my favorite philosphers.

The only excommunicated people I know are Catholics. And yes, I personally know Catholics who have been formally excommunicated by the Vatican.

All baptized Christians are joined with the Church in an imperfect way. We pray that someday they may be perfectly joined.

It is my job to be so joyful and kind that my Protestant friends & family want what I have.

I heard that song in my head when I read the title.

I’m sure I’m not the only one.

He’s the one man I never met that I miss nearly as much as those I knew who have passed with him.

Sorry - not trying to derail the thread. Just feeling a bit nostalgic (and I’ll be checking out these books as well).
 
Wow! As a brand new catholic who used to be Methodist I may not be perfect but I don’t think that hat fits me thanks very much!
 
I had an opportunity to meet Mr. Rogers while visiting WQED on a field trip, many years ago. Wonderful person.

One of my long term friends is an Evangelical, and one of the smartest people I know. When I worked with him, we would have weekly lunchtime Bible Study. We still maintain an email relationship.

I expect to meet him when we are both “upstairs”.

I’m not sure I understand the original question, exactly. It isn’t as if Catholic churches don’t allow Protestants to come in to their churches or that they quiz people at the door about whether they are Catholic or not or as if Catholics are not allowed to marry Protestants or if the charities care what denomination their clients are.

Where did they get the idea that Catholics don’t love Protestants? Is this an “if you loved me, you’d admit me to Holy Communion” question?
