What do you think happened to His church?

Do you believe the church Jesus left us dissolved?

Or that the church Jesus founded “lost the keys”?

Or that the church "evolved’ into all of these different denominations?

Or what?

Do you think we all are part of one big church and it doesn’t matter which one you attend?

Even a Catholic Church?

Or do you exclude the Catholic Churches?

Christ founded a church, that was one, holy, catholic, and apostolic, and he said the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. There is still one that meets all the criteria, (you guessed it) the Catholic church, is Christs church. At least this is what my studies have lead me to believe. The only other church I’ve come across with any claim is the EO which i feel is disqualified, due to lack of clear authority, and a resulting disunity.

What was it in your studies that made you say “I get it”?

Personally, I second that, but would like to add that I don’t think Jesus would have liked to see the Christendom shattered with the Reformation. Though reform may have been needed, I don’t think this should have happened… like the children we are, we should have figured it out.

I enjoy a resurgence today in my love and appreciation for all my Protestant brothers and sisters as I’m living in the largely Mormon area of Utah County, Utah.

p.s. As a nod to my Mormon neighbors, I DO appreciate our shared values. It’s nice to not have to constantly deal with the independent-in-your-face-coffeeshop-hippy-don’t-take-my-rights-away-and-by-the-way-aren’t-I-spunky-in-your-face crowd who’d just as soon elect Ted Kennedy the Supreme Permanent Ruler of the United States before they’d consider putting a pro-life candidate in the Presidency.

Please disregard the last part of my previous post. I was attempting to be light-hearted, but I think it was poor judgement on my part.

Sincerely,
RAR

It was left in the hands of sinful human beings. If God had wanted a better outcome, She would have left it to the angels… maybe.

Man thought he could make it better, so the reformation. His Church is still here though.

Jesus knew that the 12 He picked were sinful men yet He still told them
“and the gates of hades will not overcome it”
and promised them
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—”

Looking up the word “reformation” I find the definition “improve”.

Creation could not “improve” on what the Divine left us.

Humans could not destroy His Body,His Church,Him.

He is the Head.It is His Body.He included sinful men into it.

Do you really think that man “improved” it?

Do you really think that when Martin Luther began his revolt
against the Catholic Church, because of sinful men, that God followed him and left the Church He built on Peter?

Martin Luther was a sinful man. Why would God leave His Church and follow Martin and his church?

The Bible was written by sinful men,
yet Protestants continue to read it. Why? Because a book can not change? But it has changed. Martin removed 7 books. Added a word that was not there originally. Why do people trust Martin Luther more then God? It must be. Why else would people leave His Church for someone who isn’t happy with authority?
