Many people are searching for answers on what heaven is like. You may believe heaven is clouds and big gates, and we are all angels, and believe hell is a lake of fire and little men with pitchforks, but other people may have different opinions. I tend to believe that heaven is the happiest moment in your life and hell is the worst moments of your life happening over and over again. Again, everyone is titled to their own views, which is why I would like to see people’s opinions on this matter.

Pappas my friend,

Apart from the fact that the most elevated, wildest and fantastic imaginations of humans couldn’t even proximate the wonders and beauty the Lord has prepared for us in heaven…

Hell is not only quite the opposite but… imagen knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that everything about heaven and God is true and real and eternal - with the tragic realization and certitude that you will never, ever partake of it…

that alone sends shivers down my spine and moves me to my soul to do, here on earth everything I can to not only avoid hell but to occupy at least a little corner in heaven.

Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.

In one of his dreams, Dom Bosco found himself in the most beautiful place he had ever seen. It was beyond words to describe, it was so beautiful. He thought he was in heaven, but learned that he was in purgatory. If this is purgatory, he couldn’t imagine how much more beautiful heaven must be.

Hell, well it must be very bad, for our Blessed Savior to have gone through what he did, so we won’t end up there. Thats all I really care to know about hell. I don’t plan to be there.

Jim

Hell is the complete absence of God.
That’s what were were taught as well. And we were always taught that what can be worse than that absence and KNOWING that God is absent. That is a terrifying thought to me, even worse than whatever punishments are in Hell.

hi,

nobody knows, except those who are there. that being said, peter kreeft, from boston college, wrote a book sharing his thoughts on these questions. the title, avail. from ignatius press, is " everything you wanted to know about heaven". it is quite good and there is a chapter on hell also.

God bless,

johnco

in that case heaven has to be the year you have your first baby, and hell has to be 7th grade gym class.

Quite simply…Heaven Good!!! Hell Bad!!!

Heaven is suffering were pain infuses our entire being because we are all part of the body of Christ. Our sins are infinite offenses against God the Father, so Christ must suffer for us eternally to appease the burning wrath of the Father, and since we are part of him we share in that suffering. That is what makes it heaven we share with eachother the endless pain weakening it.

Hell on the other hand is a worse suffering because you are alone and must constantly feel the full attack of Gods wrath tearfully alone.

Whaaat?
What about Revelation 21v4: “God will wipe away our tears. There will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying and no more pain, for former things have passed away.”
If we were in God’s presence right now for even a split-second we would know a bliss and happiness and love so indescribable that we’d want to live like that forever. I doubt if anyone would say the same for the heaven you’ve described.

I believe heaven is the most beutiful place and the greatest creation from God The Father, far beyond our own imagination. I also believe there are more levels, each one far more magnificient then the last … the deeper in Christ the higher you go … Love at it’s high’est level.

I believe hell is a real stinker, horrible smells and sounds of weeping and screaming and nothing to do but be very very sorrowful. Heat, cold, sickness darkness, no friends, no laughs, no furniture, your every view is evil in a pit filled with snakes ruled by satan, Heavy crule ruler of the pit. Who takes it out on all those down there with him.

tradition does teach us there are 7 levels thus the saying seventh heaven and my vision of hell was very loud and nasty though I did not notice any ruler

I think of heaven as the Beatific Vision. Just beholding the Blessed Trinity forever. I dream of hugging Jesus, and looking around at the faces of people who love God and we are all one. I think of hell as what my times of despair are like, but intensified. Sad, shaken, lonely, angry, wanting something and never having it. And I do tend to think of fire and physical pain, too. I think that image since my childhood stuck. I don’t know if that is true, though.
